Last week, Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison briefly surpassed Elon Musk to claim the title of the world’s richest person. Soon after, the 81-year-old billionaire made headlines again when he married Julin Zhu, a woman 47 years younger than him.
According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Ellison’s fortune at the time was estimated at $393 billion, while Musk’s wealth stood at $385 billion. The marriage drew attention not only because of Ellison’s status but also because of the large age difference. Zhu, who is a graduate of the University of Michigan, is fluent in Chinese, English, and Spanish.
The couple first met in 2018 during a university event. By November 2024, Zhu was formally introduced as “Larry’s wife.” This is Ellison’s fifth marriage. His previous four marriages did not last, though he has two children from one of his former wives.
